In numerous places, the clear jurisdiction of the Division of Finance overlaps or nearly overlaps federal law. For example, some of the consumer lending statutes incorporate federal Truth-in-Lending by reference. Accordingly, we have taken steps to be able to assist to some extent in issues involving credit bureaus, credit disputes and errors, credit disclosures, advertising, and debt collections practices. The Division of Finance also offers various pamphlets and discussions, both those created by this office and those which originated elsewhere, on these topics which we are providing free of charge via our web site.
