Mortgage Brokers

Chapter 443 RSMo assigns to the Division the responsibility of enforcing the laws which regulate residential mortgage brokers. Supervision includes licensing and examination powers. Certain companies are exempt from the licensing act, but are required to register with this Division.

Savings and Loan Associations

Effective July 7, 1994, the responsibility of administering the laws regulating the savings and loan industry was transferred to the Division of Finance.

Chapter 369 RSMo requires the Division of Finance to exercise general supervision over the savings and loan industry, including the enforcement and execution of laws. Supervision includes periodic examinations to determine safety of operations and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
